I am pleased to announce that Cold-Hearted Boys, a chapbook poetry collection, has been released and is now available from the Main Street Rag bookstore.

Part memoir, part love letter, documentary, elegy, therapy, and patient notes, Cold-Hearted Boys roams the territory of my youth, occupying that unsettled space between home and leaving home where everything lost is saved.

Joyce Peseroff, author of Petition and Eastern Mountain Time, calls the collection “poems of labor, tenderness, and grief for the losses in a life seeded in one soil that blooms in another.”

I hope you’ll give it a read, and if you know someone who might be interested, please pass this announcement along.

Praise for John Glowney & Visitation

Glowney writes tilted, furious poems worthy to be read next to the Pacific and the tides of bad news that describe our contemporary world. His poems are sometimes heartsick, sometimes darkly comic expressions of our powerlessness, but they are such redeeming company.

—Kathleen Flenniken, author of Plume & Post Romantic

John Glowney’s poems have a way of leaping from one image to another, from the profane to the sacred and back again.

—Charlotte Pence, author of Code, 2020 Book of the Year from Alabama Poetry Society

Visitation is a terrific achievement, a toast to Americana and an extended elegy all in one.

—David Rigsbee, author of This Much I Can Tell You & others
